Simple, Beautiful Wedding Photography
The Mersey waterfront is the obvious draw. The Royal Albert Dock, the Three Graces at the Pier Head and the river views give Liverpool wedding photographs a strong sense of place. Many couples also use the city's two cathedrals as backdrops, along with the Georgian Quarter's terraces and the lakes and trees of Sefton Park.
A little further out, Crosby Beach, with Antony Gormley's iron figures along the sand, is a popular spot for dramatic, windswept portraits, particularly towards sunset.
The waterfront and beaches can be very windy. Veils, hair and flowers all behave differently in a breeze, so talk to your photographer about timing and sheltered alternatives. Summer evenings over the river offer lovely light, while winter shoots need planning around an early sunset.
Docks, cathedral grounds and some parks may ask for professional photography to be arranged in advance, and busy tourist areas can be crowded at weekends. A photographer familiar with the city will know quieter times and corners.
Summer Saturdays and dates around major events in the city book up early. Aim to secure a photographer a year or more ahead if you have a popular date, and ask whether they offer an engagement shoot to help you get comfortable in front of the camera.
